That’s Magic!

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

That’s Magic….. For anyone who was seen the planning boards at a well known Digital TV Company, you will have noticed their portable white boards. Actually these are statically charged shiny A1 sheets of paper that are totally wipeable. If you are a follower of the TV Show Dragon’s Den then you may well have seen the product on the show, which secured investment. Simply we use them in our team for planning and they are brilliant. So the site is: http://www.magicwhiteboard.co.uk/

Happy planning !

QCon2009

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I received the email advert to sign up to QCon 2009 today. I went to this event ion 2007, good event. I saw Martin Fowler and Dave Anderson speak in the evening and it was very entertaining. Now….here’s my problem it’s over £1000 for the event. Which is nearly 50% more than the Agile Business Conference.Someone is onto a winner !

Where does it all come from?

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Spoke to this really interesting guy today who was telling me all about his Agile experience and where and why he has implemented technologies in certain projects.

It was one of those really good conversations that could have gone on forever. He posed a question that was hard to answer…….

Where do the names of these Agile products originate from, ie Selenium, Fitnesse, Badboy, Crystal, Scrum………………..Who decides?

Certified or Certifiable?

I’m certified, I must be good!

It seems that the whole morning has been spent listening to “I am Agile Certified you know”. If this is the mentality of the Agile workforce out there, then we must be in trouble in 2009. This so reminds me of the Sun Certification in the early 2000’s and back then it seemed that is was a way of confirming average knowledge and not commercial excellence.

Would you hire someone just because they are Certified ?

What do I write, what can I say, how can I say it?

Well simply this Blog is all about expressing views and opinions and the ability to contribute value to the Agile Community.  My aim is to generate discussion and from there on, let’s just see how it all flows…..

In the past blogging has led to some great introductions to people across the world, and guess what? After 10 years , my agile world is still growing each day.  Engage with me, engage with my community, let’s have some strong views and opinions.

Remember, in the agile world, nobody is right and nobody is wrong, that is the beauty of the world that we are part of.

Welcome to the newly launched Agile Voice website.  I am Simon Voice. The purpose of this site is to stimulate discussion within the agile community, not only do we want to challenge and develop ideas but also exchange ideas and improve the way we all work.

These pages will be updated regularly to contain new ideas and review your feedback. Please add comments or raise ideas which you think the community should discuss.
